Lake Rules
(This is an extract of the Lake Rules, as supplied by Lakeside Caravan Park, June 2003)

Waterskiing 2003

1. Permits to ski on the lake are obtainable at Lakeside Shop. The permits do not cover launching fees.

2. Only members of the British Water Ski Federation (Tel: 0207 833 2855) will be permitted to buy permits to ski on the lake and proof of membership is necessary.

3. Proof of power boat insurance, including minimum 3rd party indemnity of at least £500,000 is also necessary.

4. During 2003 the lake is closed for waterskiing from 01/01/03 until 15/03/03 and from 0911/03 until 31/12/03. There are also various "no-go" areas on the lake. It is necessary to be aware of these before you launch your craft.

5. Season Permits will cover the period from 15/03/03 to 09/11/03 and may be used at all times in accordance with the time limits imposed.

6. Skiing is not permitted between 11.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. On these days, after 5.00 p.m., all skiing must be conducted in the "Dog Leg" area of the lake. (After 5:00pm - boat numbers are limited to the first 5 who register at the Lakeside shop.)

7. No skiing is allowed before 6.00 a.m. or after 9.00 p.m. at any time and is subject to further restrictions relating to sunrise and sunset.

8. When a skier is being towed a responsible person must be in the boat with the driver to act as an observer. Both driver and observer must be 16 years old or over.

9. If a skier has dropped into the water and is waiting to be picked up then the boat going to the skier must show a red flag.

10. No more than TEN boats are to be actively engaged in towing a skier at any one time.

11. A speed limit of 5 m.p.h. applies to all powered craft (other than safety craft) not towing a skier, or showing a red flag.

12. Jet skis, jet bikes, water scooters, hovercraft, hydrofoils, paragliding are not allowed under any circumstances.

13. No inflatable towing devices on Sundays.

14. The full set of Rules and Regulations, available at Lakeside Shop, should be studied before skiing on the lake.

If necessary the Llangorse Lake Conservation and Management Co. Ltd reserve the right to alter any of these conditions without notice.
